Whether you’re a total beginner or a seasoned yogi-bear, this calm, intimate session is the perfect way to unwind and connect before the week’s festivities kick into gear.

Held at Toi Tū, 1 Ponsonby Rd — and just a short stroll down Karangahape Rd to the official Meet & Greet afterwards, so you can flow straight from mat to mingling.

Funny, Furry, Fierce is the show that sold out year after year at New York’s Urban Bear Weekend before host Neil Thornton dragged it (and himself) across the Pacific, and it’s been an unmissable fixture of Bear NZ Week ever since.

Neil’s rounded up a lineup that spans the full comedy food chain: some of New Zealand’s most seasoned comedians – dryer than Justine’s you-know-what – sharing the stage with a fresh crop of emerging talent (dripping with just as much promise as the bears at an underwear party). It’s a lineup built for range: the veterans who’ll destroy you with a raised eyebrow, and the up-and-comers who haven’t learned what they can’t say yet.

Expect filthy tangents, zero shame, and laughter that’s guaranteed for sure. Grab your seats early, because this one always sells out, and nobody wants to be the bear standing at the back missing the punchline.

Haus of Bears is a concert and variety showcase celebrating the creativity, talent, and diversity of Tāmaki Makaurau’s LGBTQI+ communities — with a strong emphasis on Tangata Whenua and Tangata Tiriti rainbow voices, bringing true inclusion and diversity to life on stage.

Musicians, dancers, drag performers, choreographers, make-up artists, and technicians all come together to create one professional, unforgettable live show , some of whom who’ve graced our screens and stages across the country for a night that’s every bit as polished as it is fabulous.

Held at the legendary Phoenix Cabaret, Auckland’s premier drag and cabaret venue on K Road, this is a proper night out. Full production values, dazzling performances, and an atmosphere you won’t find anywhere else.

Who will take the Sash this year? Join us for the biggest night of Bear NZ Week as New Zealand’s finest bears take the stage, competing across a range of categories to see who has what it takes to claim the coveted title of Mr Bear New Zealand.

Expect fierce competition, charismatic personalities, and a showcase of everything that makes our community diverse, strong, and connected. This is more than a title — it’s a celebration of the Bear community in all its glory, and one of the most entertaining nights on the calendar.

It’s all for a great cause too: the pageant raises significant funds for charity and gives back to the wider community, with a huge range of raffle prizes up for grabs on the night — so bring plenty of casg and luck along with your cheer.
